EUROPA LEAGUE
HOLDERS: Liverpool

The Europa League is a competition for teams from all around Europe.
It consists mainly of the cup winners from various countires with a few qualifying from their league position.
It is played as a group round robin first round with the top 2 teams in each group progressing to the quarter finals.
The knockout games are played over 2 legs with penalties being used to decide the winner if the aggregate scores are tied.
The final is played as a one off match at a neutral venue.
The winners qualify for next seasons Champions League.
